Synopsis
The narrative is set at Advanced Nurturing High School, a prominent high school with cutting-edge facilities where nearly every student goes on to university or finds work.
Although the aforementioned high school appears to be a utopia, the truth is that only the best kids receive preferential treatment.
Kiyotaka Ayanokji is a student in D-Class, which is where the school's "inferior" pupils are dumped to disgrace them.
Kiyotaka was placed in D-class because he was "careless" on his admission examination. Kiyotaka's condition began to alter after meeting Suzune Horikita and Kiky Kushida, two other pupils in his class.
Characters
Main Characters
Kiyotaka Ayanokouji
Kiyotaka has the uncanny capacity to discern the emotions of others around him and either aid or destroy them.
He has a knack for devising innovative and imaginative schemes, such as enlisting the help of an older D-Class student to collect past test questions.
Kiyotaka has expressed an interest in establishing friends, but his volatile and emotionless demeanor tends to exclude him.
He has, nevertheless, made relationships with others and appears to have an impact on them. When Airi called for help as a psychotic stalker was about to assault her, he arrived promptly to save her.
Suzune Horikita
Suzune is a stoic, intellectual young lady who rarely shows emotion and appears undisturbed by most situations.
Due to her lack of communication with her peers and her tendency to remove herself from them, she comes across as a cold and distant person to them.
After spending time with him throughout the island exam, she began to trust him. When she thanked him for their success in the island challenge, she also displayed a rare display of affection.
Kikyou Kushida
Kikyou aspires to make friends with everyone, not just D-Class students. Kiyotaka Ayanokji overhears her publicly professing her contempt for Suzune Horikita and cursing her repeatedly.
Despite this, she continues to try to make friends with Suzune in order to attain her aim. Her persona is admirable since she managed to fool the majority of her peers into believing she was a bubbly and helpful person.
Airi Sakura and Ichika Amasawa, for example, have surmised that there is more to her than she lets on.
Support Characters
Sae Chabashira
Sae takes her job as a teacher extremely seriously and adheres to the school's policies to the letter.
She has no emotional attachment to her classmates and merely assists them in their endeavors.
A few kids have made her profession more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. When she is alone, she has been seen smoking a cigarette as a form of self-medication to relieve stress.
She looks unconcerned about most things, as evidenced by her unaffected reaction to Kiyotaka grabbing her by the collar after she told him to reach for Class A.
Manabu Horikita
Manabu is a highly brilliant and conscientious young man who was devoted to his job as president of the student council.
He tends to relish challenging social situations, as evidenced by his smirking in response to Ken's objection and his explanation to Sae Chabashira as to why he was present at the hearing.
Honami Ichinose
Her unselfish and supportive demeanor, paired with her great social skills and natural people-orientation, is one of her most distinguishing characteristics.
She is friendly to most students, regardless of whether they are in her class or not, and she does not display bias in her tone of voice when chatting with them.
She appears to be a cheerful girl who is brilliantly communicative with friends and foes alike, regardless of allegiance or background.
Honami was keen to actively work with students from different classes throughout the exam in which they were grouped together, hoping to acquire their trust and friendship.
